Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

THEME: God can redeem anything. He provides streams in the desert, and water from a rock. He can take any situation and bring good out of it.

Lyrics | Description

VERSE 1
Exceeding abundantly
What is not He calls to be
Impossible is possible with God
Just one word of His command
and streams cool the burning sand
Mercy from the Lord
Will soon be outpoured

CHORUS
Beauty from ashes
Gladness from mourning
Praises dispelling despair
Freedom for captives
Comfort in sadness
There's nothing our God can't repair

VERSE 2

This treasure in jars of clay
By God's grace will yet display
A power that's His own and not from us
Though hard pressed at every turn
God's love deep within us burns
Though we see in part
We will not lose heart
