Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

Adoration of Jesus

Lessons and Carols
Here the traditional Anglican service of Christmas is "tweaked" slightly, with prayers following the scripture reading. The incarnation of our Lord is told with alternating readings, prayers, and carols.

Christmas Eve Service
Entitled GOD WITH US, this is a first-person retelling of Luke 1 and 2. Readers for the different characters of the story are needed, but staging and costuming can be kept to a bare minimum. Simplicity can work for you in this case.

Praising God
History is filled with passionate words of praise from believers to our redeeming God. This script incorporates the value of that praise to enliven our worship today, here and now.

Looking To Jesus
Where do we look for inspiration? The world is quick to give us an ever changing and inspiring list. But only Jesus can deliver in matters of faith and perseverance and eternity. Jesus never disappoints.

Solitary Throne
Jesus is Lord? The world allows him a place at the table of religion, but that is all. Someday, however, he will be the honored guest, when every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Philippians 2:11

Adoring God
Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Exodus 15:11 "No employment can be a greater honor to a man than to praise God." Jonathan Edwards
