Why we Worship

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

THEME: Our minds are finite. And our imaginations have a governor on them. We see through a glass dimly. But God has no such limitations. The One who created the heavens and the earth is able to do far more than we could ask or even think.

Lyrics | Description

The angel stood before an awestruck Mary, and calmly announced her future, if she would agree. "Do not be afraid...you will be with child...He will be great...He will reign...His kingdom will never end."

Mary's head was spinning. "How will this be," she asked, "since I am still a virgin?"

And then those words.  We still marvel at the plan of God. This child would be created in the womb by the Holy Spirit. And then the clincher. "For nothing is impossible with God."

Nothing is impossible. Nothing. And so we can sing about the power of our God, who can do anything. Absolutely anything. And that is the God to whom we pray. Who wouldn't trust in that kind of God? He delivers, and He saves.

Surely Mary had often dreamed of bearing a child.  This had to be the greatest example of "immeasurably more" in human history!

And, oh yes, I almost forgot.  Mary said yes.
