Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

Lyrics | Description

VERSE 1
Heaven is your throne
Earth is your footstool
All creation serves as your abode
A high and holy place
Or the heart of the humble
Where you reside, your glory is bestowed
You have seen my foolish ways, conform them
To the image of your Son
Make my heart a home you love to dwell in
Don't give up until you're done

CHORUS
Till there's praise on my lips
A joy in my heart
And the strength to live by faith, not by sight
Till the day you return to undo what's wrong and
SET THINGS RIGHT

VERSE 2
How often in the flesh
I have grown weary
Trying hard to live life all alone
Still hopelessly I cling
To the path of my choosing
Just think of all the peace I might have known
From this day on, be my place of refuge
Be my comfort, my reward
Help me to possess you holy mountain
May rich blessing be outpoured

BRIDGE
"Peace, peace," is whispered in my ear
"Peace, peace," if you have ears, then hear
