Why we Worship

PSALM 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!
  Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared,
  a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
  and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
  the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God has gone up with a shout,
  the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
  Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
  sing praises with a psalm!

Why Sing?

God reigns over the nations;
  God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
  as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
  he is highly exalted!

Why Scripture?

Glorification

Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

Convinced Of This

The fact that God gave up His only Son to redeem us shows the lengths He will go to bring us safely home. We are held in His hands, and can rest in that truth.

The Hope We Have
Walt Harrah
Christian hope is the spiritual gasoline that fuels our faith, and keeps us running with perseverance. A Christian without hope is an oxymoron, like a car with no engine.

In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul talks about seeing through a glass dimly, but that it will not always be so. The glory that is certain to come, of which the Christian hopes and longs for, will be unimaginably wonderful.
